New Year’s Eve of Design

We are celebrating the opening of the Design Capital year on Senate Square in the New Year’s Eve of Design. You are warmly welcome!

The evening is hosted by the Mayor of Helsinki, Jussi Pajunen, and everybody present can join in making New Year’s resolutions. 

10 pm
*The Resolutions Bar opens at the Senate Square. Come make your New Year’s resolution and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate!

*Out ‘n Loud, the Helsinki Gay Choir takes the stage at 10 pm.
*Just before the live broadcast everyone will take part in the joint effort in singing ABBA’s Happy New Year with Jari Sillanpää and AiA.
*Step Up Dancers will move and keep you warm.

10.55 pm
*Sillanpää, AiA and Out 'n Loud will be joined by beatboxer Felix Zenger.
*The Design Capital Year will be opened by the president of Icsid Soon-in Lee.
*Young designer Minna Piironen will make her New Year’s resolution
*Just before midnight the cathedral will come to life with the 3D projection by Mural Media and Agent Pekka.
