A new book and exhibition introduce Alvar Aalto´s sites in Helsinki

The buildings designed by architect Alvar Aalto are an important part of Helsinki’s urban landscape and valuable architectural heritage. The city is home to some 20 buildings and other sites designed by Aalto, the majority of them internationally recognized. A new book titled “Alvar Aalto’s Helsinki Legacy” summarizes the key information about each building and their design. The book is available in both English and Finnish, price 15 Euros. Helsinki City Planning’s gallery Laituri displays all of Alvar Aalto’s sites in Helsinki in the exhibition “Alvar Aalto’s Helsinki”, open to the public through 29th August 2009.
