Nokia is the latest Main Partner of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012. The design capital currently has a total of 20 corporate partners. This is one of the largest corporate partnership projects ever carried out in Finland.
“The design capital project highlights the capacity of design to improve people’s everyday lives and Nokia is happy to be a part of this goal. WDC Helsinki 2012 is a natural way for us to present Nokia’s latest design innovations, like the Nokia N9, which combines physical form, materials, interface and services, such as Nokia Maps, into a seamless entity,” explains Marko Ahtisaari, EVP Design, Nokia.
The design capital is very pleased to have concluded another new corporate partnership. “I’m pleased that we can now announce our co-operation. Nokia is an example of a company where design plays a key role. It is a truly global company and ideally suited to be a design capital partner,” says Pekka Timonen, Director of WDC Helsinki 2012.
“Companies have been enthusiastic about contributing to making our city a better place, and they will also be implementing their own content in an exceptional way in our project. Nokia is an excellent addition to our group of corporate partners,” continues Pekka Timonen.
World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 has announced agreements with Main Partners Blue1, BMW, Fortum, Helsinki Airport, HOK-Elanto, KONE, Martela, MTV MEDIA, Nokia, Sanoma Magazines Finland, UPM and Viking Line as well as Partner agreements with Clear Channel, Deloitte, Fjord, hasan&partners, Iittala, Lapin Kulta, Paulig, and STOCKMANN.
