SATURDAY 4.2.

On Saturday I'll take my ice lantern and a tea light to the Senate Square to be lit with hopefully hundreds of other ice lanterns as part of the Wonderwater Frozen Lights event.

The event kicks off already in the morning with top designers and design teams molding their ice lanterns out of massive ice cubes.

The World Design Capital Studio just next door houses an animation workshop by MTV3 Broadcasting company. There's a chance for getting a cup of hot juice at the studio as well.

Saturday lunch and dinner will take me to some of the pop up restaurants of Restaurant Day. They just launched their mobile app for browsing the restaurants.

Wonderwater Frozen Lights
The Frozen Lights event is aimed at encouraging citizens to pause and think about their daily water consumption and water footprint.
Everyone is invited: create your own ice lantern and bring it to the event between 12 noon–4.30 PM. The lanterns will be lit by 4.30 PM. A jury led by a Finnish designer Vuokko Nurmesniemi will evaluate and select the best lanterns from amongst present participants between 5.00 PM and 6.00 PM.

The Frozen Lights event also features well-known Finnish designers who will create lanterns out of ice blocks at the event. The public can watch the designers work from 9.00 AM-4.00 PM.

The Frozen Lights event is part of the international Wonderwater project (www.wonderwater.fi). Wonderwater works with WWF Finland to reduce the national water footprint.
