Design District Helsinki Week

We invite both visitors and those living in the city to acquaint themselves with the work of the entrepreneurs and designers of the design district and to discover the small specialist shops offering excellent customer service, individual products and experiences.

Design District Helsinki will celebrate the 'design capital' year at the beginning of June for nearly a week with various campaigns and events. The programme will start with a Late Night Shopping evening during which businesses in the area will be open until late at night. The series of events will include theme days, guided walking tours, meetings with designers, street events and other related events.  The week will culminate in a design bazaar on Saturday, and on Sunday the many cafés and restaurants in the area will serve brunch. The brunch will provide added zest for gallery and museum visits later on.

An extensive membership of over 200 entrepreneurs is active in the area, from diverse creative companies (interior design, fashion, jewellery, antiques, galleries, museums) to restaurants, hotels and other service providers.

The location for the weekend event will be the Pavillion facility and its surrounding areas between the Design Museum and the Museum of Finnish Architecture.

The Design District Helsinki Week will be organised by the Design District Helsinki.
