Habitare Created Opportunities for Young Designers

Imu Design and the Finnish Fair Corporation organized a Protoshop exhibition at the Habitare design fair. The Protoshop was a forum for 10 designers working in Finland to showcase prototype products and thus to seek industrial partners for them. The exhibition was prominently placed in the high-profile Ahead! design section of the fair. The Protoshop will also be organized at future Habitare fairs. Resting comfortably on one hand, it holds a glass and carries food, freeing the user’s other hand for greeting other people. Elina Manninen is an interior designer working on her master’s thesis at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. .. Vaate The Vaate collection by Minttu Somervuori combines two functions, clothing and portable furniture. The clothing transforms into a chair and gives its user the opportunity to rest while moving around in the city. Minttu Somervuori is a designer and carpenter, a student at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, who is interested in urban living and ecological design. .. Gimmelegs Gimmelegs lamps by Timo Niskanen utilise energy saving light bulbs and make the bulbs an essential part of the design. The material is elastic and translucent silicone. Timo Niskanen is also a student at the University of Art and Design Helsinki.
