Helsinki City Planning Department’s gallery and information centre Laituri puts on display Spacial Design diploma projects from the University of Art and Design Helsinki in an exhibition titled “What if…”, September 25th to October 24th, 2009.
“What if…” is comprised of innovative ideas of six students. Their work includes greenhouses for urban courtyards, a novel plaza for a university campus, reuse of old railway cars, and landscaping of wasteyards.
Laituri organizes a series of public events in connection with the exhibition, where the exhibitors present their work and invite the audience to discuss the projects, to give feedback, and to share their own visions with the exhibitors.
“What if…” is organized by the University of Art and Design Helsinki and the Helsinki City Planning Department.
Laituri is a meeting place devoted to informing all people in Helsinki about the planning and development of Helsinki, facilitating interaction between planners, architects and the general public. It answers to the need for information at this time when Helsinki is transforming faster than at any other time in the past one hundred years.
