Comprehensive information of Finnish architecture and architects can now be found from one online source.
The new virtual information service is targeted at the international community, both at professionals and at all others interested in Finnish architecture. Its goal is to increase awareness and knowledge of Finnish architecture and to make information of Finnish architecture increasingly accessible.
The site contains information of both architects of the past and various players in the contemporary architectural scene in Finland. Visitors to the site can search for individual architects and architectural offices, and they can be directed to the websites of these architects and offices. Areas covered include education, research, organizations and architectural policies. The “News and Events” section includes information of the latest events and projects, both in Finland and abroad, including projects by Finnish architects outside Finland.
Finnisharchitecture.fi is managed by the Finnish Museum of Architecture and the Alvar Aalto Museum, which are both independent organizations. The service has been established with support from the Finnish Association of Architects SAFA, the Association of Finnish Architects’ Offices ATL, and the Building Information Foundation RTS.
