World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 has announced two new corporate partner agreements. BMW is a new Main Corporate Partner while Paulig is a Corporate Partner. The Design Capital now has a total of 17 Corporate Partners.
The total value of the Design Capital corporate partner agreements announced is approximately EUR 4.5 million. This is one of the largest corporate partnership projects ever carried out in Finland. Several additions to the list of partners are expected. The remainder of the negotiations currently in progress will be completed during the summer.
The new agreements ensure that the Design Capital will exceed the original targets set for corporate partnership. In the future, the focus will shift to implementation of partnership with the companies involved.
“The role of the companies and quality of co-operation will create a new way of functioning. We have been working with the companies to compile plans since the beginning of this year, and I believe that the extent of our partners’ activities in the Design Capital will surprise many people,” says Pekka Timonen, Director of WDC Helsinki 2012.
“We have to limit the number of corporate partners in the intensive operating model for the Design Capital year. Now we’re focusing on ensuring the success of this co-operation,” continues Timonen.
The Design Capital’s corporate partners highlight design competence, implement various contents and types of communications and co-operate diversely with each other.
Pekka Timonen is very pleased with the new corporate partners now announced, and he believes that partnership will once again bring new dimensions to the concept of design.
“BMW is a highly respected and strong design actor around the world, and its participation provides outstanding support for our goals.”
“Paulig is a modern company that actively develops its products and an influential actor in terms of coffee and coffee culture. Our partnership makes it possible to highlight the new role of design.”
World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 has announced agreements with Main Corporate Partners Blue1, BMW, Finavia – Helsinki Airport, Fortum, HOK-Elanto, KONE, Martela, MTV MEDIA, Sanoma Magazines Finland, UPM and Viking Line as well as Corporate Partner agreements with Clear Channel, Hasan&Partners, Iittala, Lapin Kulta, Paulig, and STOCKMANN.
