A French design city to be introduced at Valssaamo

Saint-Étienne is a former industrial city which has discovered new direction through interactive city planning and design.

In the exhibition organised at the Valssaamo, the former Cable Factory rolling plant, by the French Institute and Saint-Étienne Cité du design centre, visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate not only French design but also various ways through which the city's residents can participate in the planning of a new type of life in the city.

In addition to images, the exhibition will offer an opportunity to delve into the life of the official Unesco design city Saint-Étienne via four different themed routes:

Creation & Innovation will introduce the pilot terrain.

Green Values & Sustainability will open the door to new types of city life solutions from the use of public transport and green transport methods to ways of returning to the residents a more pleasing city environment.

Health & Design will introduce product design, technological innovations and services designed for the use of a diverse population.

Finally, the Scientific Experiments & Design route will introduce the visitor to a French design laboratory.

The exhibition has free admission.
