Now it begins: Helsinki is the World Design Capital!

The year turned at the Senate Square and Helsinki became the World Design Capital of 2012.

The president of Icsid, Soon-In Lee, declared the beginning of the design capital year in front of 30 000 citizens and designer Minna Piironen gave a new year's resolution on behalf of the Finnish design community.
