Even the rubbish bins will draw attention to WDC Helsinki 2012

WDC Helsinki 2012 has began the campaign to decorate the city for the important year - banderols, flags, posters and display windows have recently popped up everywhere to enliven the streets. Next in line will be the approximately 400 Helsinki City Transport rubbish bins located at tram stops and underground stations.

Together with Helsinki City Transport we wish to inspire everyone to strive for a cleaner city. The rubbish bins will remind people that rubbish is not design, it belongs in the bins. The bins are a visible sign of everyday design, at the same time highlighting WDC Helsinki 2012.

The design surfaces of the bins will be retained throughout 2012. Helsinki City Transport owns the bins and is responsible for emptying them.
