Forum Shopping Centre in central Helsinki will hold its first Turku Design Fair from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 November 2011. It will be an extensive presentation of Turku-based designers and their work.
The fair is organised by Turku Design Now!, a grouping of eight designers from the city. The group’s idea is to promote the visibility and renown of Turku-based design in Finland and abroad. This is also the aim of the Turku Design Phenomenon initiative, which will coordinate the fair and strives to make local designers known among both professionals in the field and the greater public. The initiative is a part of the official Turku Cultural Capital programme.
Over the three days, the fair will present a broad selection of design items from Turku for sale. Products will include green fashion, décor items, colourful magnetic chalk boards, retro children’s clothes and modern home textiles.
The fair will take place on the second floor of the shopping centre, with free entry.
