New Design Magazine Seeks to Inspire Designers

The new Finnish design magazine Trash focuses on sustainable design and is aimed at anyone who believes in the power of design to change the world.

Trash Magazine was launched in September at the London Design Festival and in Helsinki at the Habitare Fair, and it created a stir at both events. The magazine is now on sale at bookshops and other outlets in Finland and the UK. Further distributors are being sought in cities such as Berlin, Stockholm and Tallinn. The magazine is also fully available online.

The magazine is powerfully visual and its first issue is about recycling and new design thinking. The magazine will be published annually in Finnish and English, and is printed on recycled paper.

- With our clean and simple look we are hoping to appeal to a wide audience, including everyone from executives to elderly aunts to hipsters. We also want to inspire designers to think about their work and to discuss their assignments and aims, explains Editor-in-Chief Ida Kukkapuro.

The first issue of Trash is available online.
