One of the main goals of the World Design Capital is to provide residents with tools for developing their living environment themselves.
For everyday issues to run smoothly they need to be established on careful design. In fact, everything that functions constitutes design. We want to encourage people to pay attention to things they encounter on a daily basis. Why is a traffic sign at a certain height and a certain colour? Or why is the emergency number short and concise?
We see design as human-centred and open, and believe that we can co-create new growth through design. This is something our initiatives and projects seek to address.
We want to discover, provide and develop tools for making use of design in increasingly efficient ways. Above all, we wish to arouse discussion on ways design can bring improvement, smoothness and functionality to our lives.
The following video was launched yesterday, providing insight into issues designers work with every day. Design is for people.
