Light to the winter darkness

3rd of February will be the Day of Light. That's just 10 days from today. It will also mark the beginning of the WDC Helsinki 2012 Open Doors Weekend, bringing light into our daily lives.

Many of the producers in this weekend event have also highlighted the significance of light: the Luminord 2012 luminaire design competition will be launched to celebrate the Day of Light; the Light in the Design Forum shop event will open new shop-in-shops with light as the central theme; the Colour to the winter darkness and play of lights workshop will aim to create colourful Nordic landscapes and shadow images; the Lights of Cairo (Kairon valot)  workshop will aim to build a luminaire; you can also warm up at the Light Café (Valokahvila) whilst embracing the opportunity to experience igloo building.
